It covers using Claude and Claude Projects as a daily working tool: prompting, checking output, building repeatable workflows, managing knowledge and applying governance. It runs 60 questions in 120 minutes, passes at 720 out of 1000, and the official exam fee is $99.
The other three tracks assume you build or design software.
Who this track is designed for
Anthropic describes the audience as business professionals who use Claude and Claude Projects as a day-to-day productivity tool. In practice that covers operations, marketing, project management, human resources, finance, education, communications and general knowledge work.
This exam matches work built on documents, analysis, planning, coordination and communication.
What it tests
The exam is scenario-based. You are given a working situation and asked to choose the better decision. Definitions stay off the paper. The blueprint covers the platform and model choices available to you, prompting and task execution, checking Claude's output for accuracy, designing a workflow that other people can repeat, configuring Projects and knowledge, governance and responsible use, and diagnosing weak results.
None of it requires programming.

A common mistake is assuming Architect Foundations is the entry point because it is named Foundations. It is not. It is an architect-level exam that tests design judgement, and it is the wrong first exam for a non-technical professional.
Why a business professional would want it
Most people using AI at work have no way to show what they can actually do with it. A proctored exam result is a specific claim. It says you were tested against a published standard and passed, on a named date, with a verifiable badge.
It is most useful when your employer is adopting Claude and looking for people to lead that work internally, when you are moving into a role where AI capability is being assessed, or when you advise clients and need something concrete to point at.
It is least useful if nobody around you has asked for it and you have no near-term reason to hold it.
What preparation looks like
Anthropic publishes an official preparation path for this track through its Partner Academy, running to roughly six and a half hours of material across eight modules. Candidates who already use Claude regularly tend to need less. Candidates who have only used it occasionally should plan for more.
The most common failure is treating it as a vocabulary test. The questions ask what you would do in a situation, so time spent actually using Claude on real work is worth more than time spent memorising terms.

Anthropic routes registration for all four exams through the Claude Partner Network, and personal email addresses do not work at sign-in. This catches non-technical candidates most often, because they are least likely to work somewhere already in the network.
