How many certified people do you need for each tier?
| Level | Certified people needed |
|---|---|
| Registered | Commitment to 10 certified practitioners |
| Certified | 3 or more with an Architect or Developer certification |
| Select | 10 or more active certified individuals |
| Preferred | 100 or more active certified individuals |
Which certifications count?
Claude Certified Developer – Foundations, Claude Certified Architect – Foundations and Claude Certified Architect – Professional count. Claude Certified Associate does not. Anthropic counts people. Use a company email domain recognised on your organisation's partner record when registering. The credential belongs to the person. When a certified person changes organisations, ask Anthropic partner support to confirm the receiving firm's credit and any record changes needed.
How can I find candidates to certify through my organisation?
You can find candidates to certify through your organisation in three ways.
| Route | What it takes | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Certify your current staff | Exam fees, preparation time, Claude use in daily work | Only Developer and Architect exams count |
| Hire certified people | Recruiting time and salary | Ask Anthropic to confirm the receiving firm's credit and any domain record changes |
| Bring in consultants who certify and work on client projects | A consulting agreement and client work for them | Confirm with Anthropic in writing how consultants count |
Can consultants count toward your partner tier?
Anthropic counts "the firm's people" who hold a current certification and have used Claude in the past 90 days. Its public pages do not say how contractors or consultants are counted, or whether one person can count for two firms. Confirm both with your Anthropic partner contact in writing before you plan around consultant numbers.
What is the 10-person requirement?
New members commit to 10 certified practitioners when they join at Registered, and Select needs 10 active certified individuals. Since 2 October 2026, firms with three or more Architect or Developer certified people can be recognised at Certified on the way. See how to reach Certified.
How Timo helps partner firms build a certified team
Timo is run by Amotion AI, a registered member of the Claude Partner Network.
- Prepare your existing team: original practice exams and study guides for the Developer and Architect exams.
- Recruit candidates: people who will prepare for and sit the exams that count toward your tier.
- Introduce certified consultants: people who already hold an eligible certification, for real client work.
Timo checks each candidate's consent, credentials, availability and skills before an introduction. Timo does not sell certifications or tier status. Anthropic awards every certification to the person who passes the exam. As of 7 October 2026, Anthropic has awarded more than 80 Claude certifications to people who registered through Timo.

Questions about building a certified team
Is the 10-person certification requirement flexible?
Anthropic's published rule is that new members commit to 10 certified practitioners and Select needs 10 active certified individuals. Certified recognises firms sooner, at three eligible people. Ask your Anthropic partner contact about your situation.
Do certified practitioners have to be employees?
Anthropic's public pages count the firm's people but do not say how contractors are counted. Confirm with your Anthropic partner contact in writing.
Can a certified person move their certification to our firm?
The credential belongs to the person and transfers when they change email address or organisation. Ask Anthropic partner support to confirm the receiving firm's credit and any record changes needed.
Can one person count for two partner firms?
Anthropic's public pages do not say. Ask your Anthropic partner contact before you plan around shared people.
Where can we see how many of our people are certified?
The Partner Portal shows your organisation's total certifications, updated weekly. Your standing against tier requirements is in the Claude Partner Hub, refreshed daily. A certification total is not necessarily the number of eligible people, because one person can hold more than one credential.
